Hello, my name is Mineko Arai, the managing director of Arai Academy of Japanese Studies.  In my experience as a Japanese Language Lecturer at prestigious UK universities and a corporate trainer holding an MBA at the Foreign & Commonwealth office, I've noticed one important thing.

Most courses overlook the different approaches in building trust across cultures. So, most people who study business Japanese struggle to create a foundation for successful communication from the very beginning.

My dissertation topic was employability and foreign language learning. I identified the key for successful cross-cultural communication: to respect foreign clients in the way they need to feel respected. This is actually something most native English speakers are not aware of.

It's not your fault.

I've made it my mission to help students to break through cultural barriers and communicate effectively in order to build strong business relationships.
